N.E.GIRL
Please tell our All Crews readers about the Jungle Drum & Bass scene in Denmark:
The scene may be small but it’s driven by dedicated promoters, producers, DJs, and heads who are pushing different styles of Jungle Drum & Bass. These days, you’re more likely to hear Jungle in commercial clubs, than you would have some years ago. Venues like Bolsjefabrikken, H15, and Baggen are good spots for these styles, with crews like, Ohoi!, Concrete Jungle and Drum and Bass Klubben focusing on the genre’s foundational sounds. Meanwhile, newer collectives and platforms like Beat Symposium and Panini Radio are offering more multi-genre nights.
Give us the goods, what are your top five Jungle Drum & Bass tunes:
Jem One – All I Need [Ako Beatz]
Tim Reaper & Kloke – Alienation [Hyperdub]
Sully & Outer Heaven – Dream Sequence [Rupture LDN]
1.8.7. – When Worlds Collide [Jungle Sky]
MA2 – Hearing Is Believing [Formation Records]
Musically, what are three things you would like to accomplish in 2025?
I’m moving more into a curator role, working on new event concepts and bringing alternative styles and artists to the city, while doing fewer DJ gigs. My dream is to create something like UnFold (London), where the focus is more on the vibe and concept than the lineup. The idea is to keep the performers anonymous and really highlight the sound system and bass scene.
I want to master Dubby, a quadraphonic effects and custom synths tool by Componental, Instagram @componental.co, for use in my DJ sets. I find it works best when I play more experimental sets. I’m excited to see where it goes.
I’ll keep playing around in Ableton, working on my style and building confidence, but mostly I just want to have more studio sessions with friends and see what we produce together.

Please tell our All Crews Readers about Bukva Sound.
Bukva is a Jungle & Breakbeat label founded in 2021 operating out of Stockholm. We use Bukva Sound as a platform to promote both local and international artists, DJs & producers who share a passion for our beloved genres. Bukva Sound has contributed to nurturing a Jungle and Breakbeat scene in Sweden, a country known more for Techno and House, helping diversify the electronic music landscape in Sweden. Our releases include Dj Sofa, Coral, Response & Pliskin, Thugwidow, Buda, Msymiakos, Tim Reaper, Marco Lazovic, Coco Bryce and Vilhelm Hasselgren to name a few.
Not only are you a label owner, and a great DJ, you’re also a promoter, who are some DJs that you will be having come play at your events in 2025?
Just started planning some nights for 25’ but there are many names that I would love to have such as Dwarde, Pete Cannon, Fracture, Neffa T, Djinn, Otik, Sweetpea, Friske, 4am Kru. I also need to do a proper warehouse rave with some local heroes in the future.
Whose tracks are you enjoying sliding into your sets at the moment?
I love to blend some new, unreleased tunes with some old gems and classics, and a mix of styles as I find it a bit boring playing the same vibe for 1-1,5 hours. Some of the names that never leave the record bag are: Sully, Nectax, Response & Pliskin, Coco Bryce, Breakage, Tim Reaper, Dj Sofa, Dead Man’s Chest and from my Swedish squad Seba, Coral, Vilhelm Hasselgren & Theomega, Mir Crew.

Coral
Please tell our All Crews readers about the Jungle Drum & Bass scene in Sweden.
It’s quite a small scene here, but I guess it’s pretty tight. Most people within the scene know or at least know of each other. But it has been around for a while, so it has its roots. Especially within the rave scene.
What was your first encounter with Jungle Drum & Bass?
I started listening to drum n bass back in 1996. I was really into instrumental hip hop and turntablism at the time, following labels like Mo Wax and Ninja Tune. So, my initial encounter with the genre was mostly with jazz related artists like 4 Hero and Roni Size. I remember going mental when I saw DJ SS play Brown Paper Bag at club dB in Stockholm back in 98.

Please tell our All Crews readers about Next Chapter.
Next Chapter is a collective of DJs and creatives merged from the All Out dubstep crew and Traffic Drum & Bass crew. Our main focus is to host events and book bigger acts within the DNB and dubstep sphere. We’ve booked Chase and Status, Skream, Nia Archives, Special Request, Calibre, Noisia and more. I’m a resident DJ and play DNB, dubstep and footwork.
This is a two-part question, from a DJing perspective, what is your favorite genre of music to play and what genre do you think is the most challenging, and why?
It’s hard to choose, but I’d have to say that D&B is my favourite genre to play. The energy you can create is insane! More challenging is probably down-tempo ambient stuff, because you need to create a seamless atmosphere. It’s very fun and experimental, but I guess I just haven’t done it that much yet.
Besides music, what are other important elements to your life that you absolutely love?
Being in nature! Snowboarding, hiking, cross country skiing, mountain climbing, biking… Breathing forest air. I also love movies, acting, art, dancing, photography, interior design and true crime hehe (documentaries and podcasts). And I love animals, so much.

Take us through your process of putting a track together?
Typically, it starts with an emotion that I direct into Renoise (tracker software) without thinking or analyzing. The main drop is often made first, and then I structure and build up the track from there. The breaks are my main focus and I’m trying to push the boundaries of what a break can be, while still staying true to the classic old school sounds that inspire me. The process is often intense, and I usually finish a track within hours or a couple of days.
What is on the horizon for Msymiakos in 2025?
I’ll keep on producing for sure and will probably experiment more. Hopefully, I’m planning to incorporate more hardware into my music production. I’ve got an Amiga and an Akai sampler just waiting to be used more often. There are several forthcoming vinyl releases for 2025, both solo projects and collaborations.
Please tell our All Crews readers about a few of your interests or what is important to you outside of music.
When I’m not producing music, I spend time with my family and love being outdoors. I enjoy hiking and winter camping, and sleeping outdoors in the snow, it’s a unique experience that I find really refreshing. It’s like a reset button for your mind!
